Before you start promoting to prospective
customers, follow the steps below:
All IBOs must register with Shell Energy to comply with the energy requirement. Click here to register.
Once you have registered, Shell Energy will send you an email with a unique training link. It will contain the training modules and the online test. For more information click here.
Once you have completed the training and passed the test, you will receive the customer registration link from Shell Energy and you can start promoting the service. For more information click here.
IMPORTANT:The link provided to you is not transferable. If you share it with others you are allowing them to illegally acquire customers, leading to compliance procedures up to and including suspension of your position.
It is ILLEGAL to sell to customers without completing the registration and training. Any IBO who sells without completing registration and training will be subject to compliance procedures including permanent suspension, and the order placed will be rejected, and no compensation will be awarded.

Do's
- Remember to register yourself and pass the test before promoting Shell Energy products.
- Present and outline the product information to the customer and get their consent before proceeding with the order.
- Make sure the customer has their last energy invoice ready.
- Check the meter type before registering your customer as prepayment meters cannot be switched to Shell Energy by ACN.
- Make sure the customer’s details – name, service address and meter number – match those featured on the latest supplier invoice.
- Make sure the customer e-mail address and phone number are correct.
- Explain to the customer what will happen next. For full details, consult the Order Process Guide available in the IBO Back Office.
When signing up Shell Energy customers, you will come across an option called “save your quote’’, be aware that if you use this option you will not be compensated on the sale. Use the normal customer sign up procedure that is described in the order process guide.
Don’ts
- Do not promote Shell Energy services if you are not registered and have not completed the training accreditation.
IMPORTANT: IBOs that will sell without taking the training, they will be susceptible to permanent suspension. They won’t be able to sell new brand services. - Do not sign up customers without their knowledge. There are serious consequences for this violation.
- Do not submit the order via regular Shell Energy websites as this will lead to the order being placed directly with Shell Energy, and you won’t receive compensation for it.
- Under no circumstances should you:
− Provide your email address instead of the customer’s
− Provide your mobile number instead of the customer’s
− Place an order on behalf of the customer
If you do not adhere to these rules, you will be subject to compliance procedures including permanent suspension.
